Educator Prep Providers from Oklahoma Recognized for National Excellence in Educator Preparation
The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) has announced that the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) and the Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) have received national accreditation for their educator preparation programs. The nationally recognized CAEP teacher preparation standards represent rigorous evidence-based expectations for educator preparation and were developed to ensure excellence. Seeking CAEP accreditation is a significant commitment on the part of an educator preparation provider and provides opportunities for continuous improvement to programs committed to excellence.

In 2016, the Commission for Educational Quality and Accountability adopted the CAEP standards as Oklahoma’s accreditation standards for all educator preparation programs. “CAEP sets a very high bar and receiving accreditation validates the hard work and commitment of USAO and OPSU’s educator preparation programs” said Renée Launey-Rodolf, Director of Educational Quality.
