Research Needs and Funding OpportunitiesOklahoma's Wetland Program is still developing the tools, strategies and standards necessary to effectively manage wetlands in the state. The Oklahoma Wetland Technical Workgroup (OWTWG) a multi-stakeholder workgroup collaborated to develop Oklahoma's Wetland Program Plan. The plan took effect in 2013 and outlines the goals, actions and activities that will continue to advance the Wetland Program through 2018-2019. During the development of a wetland program, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides grants designed to advance programmatic goals. The EPA prioritizes grant applications for projects that specifically address the actions and activities outlined in the state Wetland Program Plan. For more information, please review the Wetland Program Plan. If you are interested in becoming involved in the actions outlined in the report, please contact: Brooks Tramell Director of Monitoring, Assessment and Wetland Programs Oklahoma Conservation Commission (405) 522-6908 Brooks.Tramell@conservation.ok.gov
