Financial Information


 

Seeking National Board Certification is no easy task and is extremely time intensive. National Board Certification requires:

  • An average of 200-400 hours of individual work
  • Complete support from colleagues and supervisors

Many rewards come with achieving National Board Certification. Some of these include:

  • $5,000 annual salary stipend (as per regulation and funding)
  • More attractive vocational path for all teachers
  • Retaining younger generations of teachers who are drawn to other careers offering greater promise for advancement
  • Higher level of prestige

How to apply:

  • Apply on National Board website (www.nbpts.org)
  • Pay $65.00 processing fee
    -notify Jennifer Gambrell at jgambrell@octp.org that you have started the process
  • Pay $500.00 nonrefundable fee by December 31st
    -Portfolio materials (the box) will not be sent until paid
    -notify Jennifer Gambrell at jgambrell@octp.org that you have started the process
  • Pay $2000.00 payment by January 31st

 

NOTE - School districts can use title funds for the National Board process.
