 New Testing Law Effective November 1, 2009

Teachers already certified in one area can no longer test into elementary, early childhood, or special education. Certification in these areas requires completion of an approved program. This change in law does not effect testing into other certification areas at the secondary level.

Possible Security Breach 
of Personal Identity Information
 

The Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation (OCTP), complying with the Security Breach Notification Act, is making all persons appearing on their database prior to March 27, 2007 aware of a possible breach of Personal Identity Information (PII).  OCTP was informed by the Oklahoma City Police Department that a server that had been decommissioned and stored was stolen.

Following an investigation by Law Enforcement, OCTP was informed that all indications are the stolen server was not turned on, nor was any data accessed since March 27, 2007 which was the last date of use in the agency.  For further information please contact OCTP.
