CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

The purpose of continuing professional education requirements for psychologists is to assure that licensees update and advance their skills such that the public shall benefit from the most current and effective standards of professional practice. To further the goal of public benefit, all psychologists are encouraged to fulfill a portion of their continuing professional education requirements in the areas of ethics, professional conduct, and related legal issues.

The minimum of twenty (20) credits, including three (3) credits of ethics of acceptable continuing professional education, approved by the Board, will be required for renewal of a license to practice psychology for the following year (one clock hour equals one credit). Presenters earn three (3) credits for every one (1) hour presented.

Effective September 11, 2015 - the CPE calendar year is January 1 through December 31, CPE is due by December 31, and up to twelve (12) hours may be carried forward for the next renewal year.

  • CPE may be entered at any time online by logging in to the renewal link.
  • All CPE credits must be approved by the Board or a recognized sponsor.
  • Any activity approved for continuing education credit by the Oklahoma Psychological Association (OPA), the American Psychological Association (APA), or the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB), is automatically approved for CPE.
