The Oklahoma State Board of Commercial Pet Breeders extends licensing deadline. The Oklahoma State Board of Commercial Pet Breeders (OSBCPB) announces that it has extended the initial licensing period to unlicensed commercial pet breeders until October 3, 2011. The decision was made by the members of the Board at the July 26, 2011 board meeting. The extension was made to ensure the adequate knowledge of the law by commercial pet breeders in order to comply. The original deadline for applications and fees in accordance with the rules promulgated by the board was July 15, 2011. All commercial pet breeders that are currently licensed are listed on the board’s website (www.ok.gov/petbreeders). The OSBCPB strongly discourages consumers from purchasing dogs and cats from commercial pet breeders in Oklahoma that are not licensed by the State.
