

Wagoner County Deputies are under the direction of Sheriff Elliott. Sheriff Elliott has twenty three deputies under his supervision; they include an under sheriff, Chief Deputy, major, four lieutenants, two investigators, and sixteen deputies.
Deputies are responsible for patrolling approximately 600 square miles. This consists of both rural and urban areas.
The Sheriff’s Deputies respond to emergency calls, serving warrants, subpoenas, civil lawsuits, transporting prisoners to medical facilities, department of corrections and juvenile facilities. They also enforce traffic laws, prevent crime and arrest criminal offenders.
The Sheriff’s secretaries work under the direction of the Sheriff and are responsible for requisitioning and purchasing, maintaining and balancing accounts, payroll, daily and cash bond deposits, ordering supplies, assigning and editing civil process, documenting daily incident reports and inmate files, assigning sheriff sales to appraisers and setting the date of the sale, processing concealed weapon applications, monthly reports to the County Clerk and the O.S.B.I., processing daily mail and assisting the needs of the public and other agencies by phone or in person.
Dispatchers are responsible for emergency calls. They include calls for the sheriff’s office, fire departments, O.H.P., medical and other law enforcement agencies.
The major responsibilities of a property clerk is to receive all incoming property/evidence, to fully document it, store it and to maintain it securely, to lawfully release or dispose of it, and to maintain a complete chain of custody of the entire process that is sufficiently accurate and complete to satisfy any court requirements.
