Community members from across Jackson County convened for the Local Public Health System Assessment including but not limited to Gayle Ledbetter, Paula Peterson, Matt Coppock, Captain Isaiah Scott, Captain Tammy Edwards, Jim King, Susan Doyle, & Bonnie McAskill.
Panelist for the for the 2012 Make It Your Business Event in Altus included Jackson County Community Health Action Team coalition members, Haley Rinkenbaugh, Debbie New, and Veronica Dameron.
JCCHAT Nutrition & Fitness Task Force Members joined forces with family and Western Oklahoma State College faculty and students for the Clean Up Altus Campaign. The coalition focused on the City Reservoir and Hoyt Shadid Park in Altus. The City Reservoir has several physical activity opportunities such as Frisbee golf, a scenic walking/biking trail around the reservoir, and an upgraded ADA compliant playground.
Staff at Jackson County Health Department, Lead Agency for the CX Physical Activity and Nutrition Program in Jackson County, wear RED for awareness and prevention of women’s heart disease.
