School Security Drills
During the 2nd Regular Session of the 55th Legislature, Oklahoma State Lawmakers have amended Title 70, Section 5-148 of the Oklahoma State Statutes concerning school security drills. The Oklahoma School Security Institute worked with Representative Mark McCullough and Senator Joseph Silk to pass HB 2931 which clarifies language in the law concerning required drills for schools. This change will go into effect on July 1, 2016.

2016-2017 School Year Drill Reporting
The 2016-2017 School Year Drill Reporting Forms are now active for all Oklahoma Schools to report their school safety drills to our office. Please remember to update your Internet Bookmarks with our static page:
New additions to Drill Reporting include the new language for drills as outlined in HB2931, and an adaptive feature that allows drill report submissions from a mobile / tablet device.
OSSI to Host School EOP Development Training
The Oklahoma School Security Institute will be hosting a free series of School Emergency Operations Plan Development Training Courses throughout the state from August 2 - August 5, 2016.
This course will include a 4-Hour training session on developing and enhancing School Emergency Operations Plans and a 4-Hour workshop with OSSI Staff to provide one-on-one assistance to schools creating or updating their plan.

Oklahoma's School Security Tipline
OSSI is proud to announce that our Tipline Program, Tipline.OK.gov, is available for anyone to report suspicious activity or a possible threat to any Oklahoma School. Reporting may be performed via telephone or electronically and citizens may report any situation or concern that could compromise the safety or security of any Oklahoma School, or school sanctioned event. Reports may be made anonymously and the Tipline is monitored 24/7.
