OSBI Offers Reward in Welch Murders

The OSBI is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murders of Danny and Kathy Freeman.  Ten years ago today, the Freemans were found dead inside their charred home near Welch.  Both had been shot to death before their home was set on fire. The Freeman’s daughter Ashley and her best friend Lauria Bible remain missing.  Lauria spent the night with Ashley to celebrate Ashley’s 16th birthday.

Because the crime scene was set on fire, little forensic evidence was obtained. Due to the remoteness of the Freeman’s home, no witnesses to the crime have been found. OSBI agents and other local law enforcement have investigated hundreds of leads during the past decade.

As time passes, fewer and fewer leads come in to law enforcement.  OSBI hopes this sizeable reward will entice someone with information to come forward. If anyone has information, they are urged to call OSBI at 1-800-522-8017.
