OSBI Honors Criminalist of the Year

OSBI employees honored Chris Davis as Criminalist of the Year during a ceremony at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum today.

Davis works as a latent print analyst in the Forensic Science Center in Edmond.  He was presented this top honor due to him continually being one of the most productive members of the Latent Evidence Unit. Over the past year he completed approximately 250 latent print and shoe/tire impression cases, performed more than 300 time-consuming technical reviews of his co-workers’ casework, and volunteered to take on the responsibility of training a new member of the unit.

During the year, he was able to develop a very difficult print deposited in blood at the scene of a double homicide. He then collected a print from the suspect handcuffed to a hospital bed and matched the two for a quick arrest.

OSBI Director Dr. DeWade Langley and OSBI Commissioners presented Davis the award during the ceremony.  Davis has worked as a criminalist for 11 years.
