Osage Co. Deputy Involved Shooting Investigation
OSBI agents were called to a homicide scene just west of Hulah Lake Sunday evening after an Osage County Sheriff’s Deputy shot and killed a man inside his home.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic violence call at the home of Eugene Grundy (dob 1/8/62) about 9 p.m. Grundy had been seen with a handgun earlier in the evening and deputies were aware of this.
When deputies entered Grundy’s home, Grundy yelled at the deputies not to come inside and appeared to reach for a weapon. One officer shot the man several times killing him.
OSBI agents have interviewed several people at the scene and those who lived nearby. Crime scene agents have also recovered several pieces of evidence including a semiautomatic handgun near Grundy’s body.
OSBI will compile a prosecution report for the district attorney. The D.A. will decide if this shooting was justified.
Grundy’s body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
