Oklahoma requires insurance professionals to hold an active license prior to working in the industry. Passing the exam(s) is the first step to becoming licensed. You may not work in this industry until you have passed the required exams, submitted an online application at www.licensing.oid.ok.gov and the license has been issued.
Order Self Study Exam Manuals: The OID uses Kaplan Study Guides as our primary source for exam material. Some exam data is derived from this source while other data is from a national data bank. Kaplan study manuals may be ordered directly from our office. You can pick up your order at the Oklahoma City location, Tulsa location or choose to have the order mailed to you at no extra cost. Pre-licensing Education is not required for any license type or regulated by the Oklahoma Insurance Department; however, you may choose to take an exam prep course offered by an outside vendor. Exam preparation vendors may provide their own study material. Click on the button below for a list of vendors or to order the Kaplan Study Guides.
