Providing Housing Resources With an Eagerness to Serve
|Dennis Shockley serves as Executive Director, a position he has held since 1997. In 2000, the Oklahoma Quality Award Foundation recognized OHFA with its award for Commitment.
Shockley holds a Ph.D. in history from Kansas State University. In 1999, he completed the Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He is a member of the board of directors of the National Council of State Housing Agencies, the first OHFA executive director to serve in that capacity.
Shockley is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma Class XV, is chair of the Edmond Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and serves on the boards of several other community organizations.
|Deborah Jenkins, Rental Assistance Team Leader/Executive Director Designee, leads a staff who administers OHFA's statewide Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Rental Assistance Program. The program provides assistance to more than 10,000 low-income families at a cost of $50 million dollars a year. Jenkins has a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and has completed courses toward a law degree.
OHFA's board of trustees named Jenkins its executive director designee in March 2017. She assumes this role upon Dennis Shockley's retirement October 2, 2017.
She is a member of the housing committee for the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO); an executive committee member for ex-offender reentry; a former member of the Board of Governors for NAHRO; and past president of the Oklahoma Chapter of NAHRO.
|Darrell Beavers, Housing Development Team Leader, is responsible for implementing the Housing Tax Credits Program, HOME Program, State and National Housing Trust Fund, OHFA Advantage bond program, Rural Linked Deposit and Performance Based Contract Administration.
Prior to being named Housing Development Team Leader, Beavers served as Housing Development Team Manager.
Beavers joined OHFA in 1991 and has managed many of their affordable housing finance programs. He is also an adjunct college professor, a CCIM real estate broker, and has an MBA and JD.
|Eldon W. Overstreet, Finance Team Leader, has served OHFA in that capacity since November 1990. Prior to that, Overstreet was an auditor for six years with the accounting firms of KPMG Peat Marwick and Deloitte & Touche.
Overstreet, a Certified Public Accountant, holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University and a juris doctorate degree from The University of Tulsa School of Law. He serves on the board of directors for Tinker Federal Credit Union, City Rescue Mission, and the Oklahoma Society of CPAs Oklahoma City Chapter.
