P12/Educator Preparation Clinical Alliance

High-quality clinical practice is essential in preparing teacher candidates with the knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary to have a positive impact in all P-12 students’ learning and development.

Oklahoma was pleased to join the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in 2012 to launch a Clinical Innovative Collaborative for the advancement of Clinical Preparation and Partnerships.  With its focus on clinical preparation and partnership, the Alliance was able to lay a strong foundation of support in many states for the implementation of new rigorous accreditation standards.  This alliance focuses on strategies for program innovation with emphases on leadership, collaboration, research and development.

Clinical Practice and Partnerships - STANDARD 2

The provider ensures that effective partnerships and high quality clinical practice are central to preparation so that candidates develop the knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary to demonstrate positive impact on all P12 students’ learning.
