The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), in partnership with the City of Yukon and cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is proposing a new interchange on I-40 at Frisco Road. The proposed interchange at I-40 and Frisco Road will replace the existing two-lane grade-separated Frisco Road overpass and will provide access for Yukon’s neighboring communities on I-40, i.e., downtown Oklahoma City to the east and El Reno to the west. See enclosed Location Map. The purpose of the project is to accommodate projected traffic volumes in a safe and efficient manner. A new Frisco Road interchange will accommodate the increase in overall traffic volumes due to the Frisco Road corridor development and minimize adverse impacts on the traffic operations and safety on I-40, on the Garth Brooks interchange, on the North Cimarron Road interchange, on SH-66, and on 10th Street.
The City of Yukon and ODOT recently tasked a consultant to study interchange alternatives while taking into consideration construction cost, right-of-way requirements, and environmental constraints. A Public Meeting is being held to present the Preferred Alternative on June 13th, 2017, 6:00 p.m., in the Yukon City Council Chambers, Centennial Building, 12 South 5th Street, Yukon, Oklahoma. Project information will include the project purpose and need, as well as the estimated conceptual cost, right-of-way, utilities and environmental impacts of the Preferred Alternative. The purpose of the Public Meeting is to solicit public and agency input on the Preferred Alternative.
We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Should you have any questions regarding the project, please contact:
