||Mark Costello was first elected state labor commissioner in November, 2010 achieving an historic margin of 64% over the incumbent office holder. Mark founded AMCAT, a telephony software company in 1984 which grew to a presence in 5 countries and over a hundred employees. Since selling AMCAT in 2007, Mark has founded several new technology companies including one Oklahoma company that is selling products in over 60 countries. Mark has taken a sabbatical from his business interests to be an active Labor Commissioner and to advocate for reforming State government.
Mark has kept his promises to bringing a business approach to managing the Labor Department. To date saving well over $500,000, in tax dollars while increasing efficiency, even turning back a portion of his own salary and using his own personal vehicle rather than the allowed state car (driving over 140,000 miles at his own expense).
Mark is a fourth generation Oklahoman born in Bartlesville. Mark and his bride, Cathy, have been married for 33 years, and are the parents to five children and make their home in Edmond.
