What attracted me to Griffin Memorial Hospital was the variety within the patient population, the friendliness of everyone I met, and the overall family-like atmosphere.

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to rotate at Griffin as a fourth year medical student. It wasn't long after until I knew that the program was a perfect fit for me. Not only did I learn a valuable amount of information, I also had the pleasure of meeting many insightful and knowledgeable individuals with a great passion for psychiatry. My time at Griffin provided me with the insight to what a great psychiatry residency should include: a patient population with a wide array of mental illnesses, a balance of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology in constructing a treatment plan and a group of mentors that would push one to their full potential. I am proud to be a member of the GMH residency team, and I look forward to continuing my educational journey at GMH.

I chose to pursue residency training at Griffin Memorial Hospital for many reasons. There is a very strong sense of community among the residents and faculty. Everyone works together and supports one another in order to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Also, the environment of Griffin encourages learning in a way no other program I have encountered does. Residents are encouraged to ask questions, and our outstanding faculty are always eager to answer them. In addition, as a large state hospital, the patient population at Griffin is unparalleled and offers exposure to the most acute and complicated psychiatric patients available. I am proud to be a part of this outstanding program.
