Annual Reports

  

A summary of what the Commission has accomplished throughout the calendar year. Reports include information supporting the legislated duties as a result of Enrolled Senate Bill 1147.

 

 

January 2019 - Current

In march, the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of women honored Leslie Osborn, Commissioner of Labor at their Annual Kate Barnard Awards Ceremony and  Luncheon. The award was established in 1998 to  honor outstanding women in public service whose leadership has benefited Oklahoma women and families. The event, normally held in February was rescheduled due to bad weather.

April 25, 2019

The Annual Guardian Award was presented to Representative Regina Goodwin, District 7 (Tulsa Area.) Representative Goodwin was honored for her work on HB 3393 which direct the use of the "least restrictive restraints on pregnant inmates" and bans the practice of shackling pregnant women in labor while in the custody of the Department of Corrections (DOC.) Representative Goodwin is seen holding her award during the April OCSW Business meeting. Seated and standing are members of the Commission and Advisory Council.

 

2019 Guardian Award

 

July 22, 2019

Commissioner Sarah Brown facilitated a workshop during the 49th Annual National Association of Commissions for Women's (NACW) Conference and Business meeting.  The theme of workshop was "Increasing the effectiveness of commissions with smart administration. The conference was held July 22 -25, at the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago. During the event, NACW recognized the OCSW for their work by presenting them with the 2019 Achievement Award. The award is given to Commissions that seeks to identify and publicly recognize exemplary, innovative women's commission programs that promote the welfare and status of women and girls.

August 22, 2019

The OCSW hosted its Annual Business Meeting and Retreat at the Chickasaw Community Center in Oklahoma City. Members discussed the annual budget and future events. Newly elected Chairman, Riki Snyder resided over the event.
