This project was an implosion of a ten (10) story office building and an adjoining eight (8) story garage building in downtown Oklahoma City, OK. It is located at 1 North Hudson Street, Oklahoma City, OK. These were old structures, build back in the 1930s. The Black Hotel was constructed in 1930 by Lucian Black at a cost of $600,000. The garage was built by Oliver P. Kernadle, who pioneered the automobile hotel business in Oklahoma City. This eight-story structure housed automobiles for surrounding businesses, including the Black Hotel. The JE Dunn Construction Company contracted the demolition to Midwest Wrecking Company, who in turn contracted Contract Drilling and Blasting LLC to do the blasting demolition. As the blasting company in charge, Contract Drilling and Blasting was tasked to provide permits and blasting plan to the Oklahoma Department of Mines.
