***Q: "I went to the online portal and it says my status is 'lapsed', but my license isn't expired! What does that mean?"

A: The program connected to the online portal is no longer being updated in anticipation of a new system currently in development. The deprecated program has a bug where it shows LGC licenses as "lapsed" beyond their first year. The expiration date is accurate. If your expiration date is still in the future, and you have not been notified of any problem with your license, you may safely assume that the license is valid. The "lapsed" status is simply the result of a software bug, and not an accurate reflection of the status of a license that has not expired yet.
