Oklahoma State WIC Conference Cancelled Due to Weather

The Oklahoma State Department of Health announced this evening that due to inclement weather it has cancelled a state conference scheduled this week. The Oklahoma Women, Infants and Children's (WIC) Conference has been cancelled. More than 500 persons had registered for the conference, which was to take place in Norman at the Embassy Suites Hotel beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 2, through Friday, Feb. 4.

"Since the timing for this event unfortunately coincided with hazardous weather conditions, we felt cancelling the conference was the appropriate action to take in order to protect our speakers and those who still planned to travel to the conference," said Terry Bryce, chief, WIC Service.

Plans to reschedule the conference for later this year will be considered.
