Champions of Health Award Nominations Sought

For seven years, the Champions of Health Awards have sought to recognize those who are trying to improve the health of Oklahomans. Individuals and organizations are recognized for their efforts so that these successes can be replicated in communities across the state.

Nominations are now being sought for the seventh annual Champions of Health awards. Nominations are accepted in five categories:
• Champion of the Uninsured
• Champion of Children’s Health
• Champion of Community Health
• Champion of Senior Health
• Champion of Corporate Health

All nominations must include a nomination form, narrative summary, narrative and program samples.

Winners will receive an award as well as a $1,000 contribution to their organization or program. All entries will be considered for the top honor, the Dr. Rodney Huey Champion of Oklahoma Health Award. This winner will receive a $2,500 contribution to his or her organization or program. All winners will be honored at a Champions of Health awards banquet in Oklahoma City later this year.

The Champions of Health awards are presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma State Department of Health, the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, the Oklahoma Hospital Association, the Oklahoma State Medical Association, and the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association.

Visit www.championsofhealth.org for more information and to submit a nomination online. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, July 30, 2010. There is no cost to enter.
