                                 9:30 a.m. – Legislative Primer 101 with Anne Roberts, Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy (OICA)
                               10:00 a.m. – Proclamation & Photo with Gov. Brad Henry
                               11:00 a.m. Melanie Willis, Mrs. OKC 2007 speaker; followed by luncheon in 4th Floor Capitol Rotunda

Background:    April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Each week child protective services agencies in the USA receive more than 50,000 reports of suspected child abuse or neglect. In 2005, in Oklahoma there were more than 13,300 confirmations of child abuse and neglect. During that same year, 40 Oklahoma children died as a result of child abuse and neglect.
