Take Charge! Program
Offers No Cost Clinical Breast Exams and Cervical Screening

The Jackson County Health Department, located at 401 W. Tamarac Road, Altus, is offering no cost clinical breast exams, PAP smears, and a coupon for a mammogram to women who qualify for the Take Charge! Program. The next clinic will be held on Thursday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule your appointment at the clinic, call 800-955-6968.

In order to qualify for services, a woman must meet the following guidelines:
low income; and
not covered by insurance or a high unmet deductible; and
not covered by Medicaid or Medicare, and
between the ages of 50-64.

In addition to the clinic on March 2, other Take Charge! clinics are scheduled at this location from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. the first Thursday of each month.

In addition to the clinic on March 23, Take Charge clinics are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the fourth Thursday of every month.

This program is offered through a partnership between the OU College of Nursing and the Take Charge! Program, Chronic Disease Service, Oklahoma State Department of Health and the Jackson County Health Department.
