SAFE KIDS Coalition Needs You!

The Oklahoma SAFE KIDS Coalition, a program of the Oklahoma State Department of Health, is currently conducting its annual volunteer recruitment drive.

"We are looking for volunteers who want to make a difference – anyone who is interested in promoting child safety," said Martha Collar, coalition coordinator.

"We have teens through retirees who regularly volunteer for SAFE KIDS. Some volunteer once a year and others once a week – or anything in between," said Collar.

Some volunteers prefer office work while others want to work directly with children. Some are utilized for their public speaking skills, others participate in fundraising, and still others help organize events. "We try to match the person's skills and interests with the right task," said Collar. Weekday and weekend hours are available.

For more information about becoming a SAFE KIDS volunteer, call (405) 271-5695.
