Residents of Choctaw Living Center to be Relocated

Jerry Regier, Acting Director of the Oklahoma State Department of Health, today issued an order to begin relocating the 74 residents of the Choctaw Living Center, 2707 Harper Street, Choctaw, to other appropriate facilities.

Regier said the decision to move the residents is the result of findings of a week-long survey, performed by health department employees, following the death of a resident last week. He emphasized that the State Health Department would offer all help possible to assist residents' family members and guardians find alternative care for their loved ones quickly, with minimal intrusion in residents' lives.
