Oklahoma Professional Boxing Commission to Meet

The Oklahoma Professional Boxing Commission will meet Wednesday, March 22, at 1:30 p.m. in Room 1102 of the Oklahoma State Department of Health, 1000 NE 10th Street, Oklahoma City.

The meeting will include a public hearing on the proposed rules developed by the commission to carry out the purposes of the Oklahoma Professional Boxing Licensing Act, passed by the Oklahoma Legislature in 1999.

The Oklahoma Professional Boxing Licensing Act provided that the commission would have jurisdiction over all matters relating to the licensing of professional boxers, trainers, managers, corner persons, booking agents, matchmakers, promoters, referees, judges, timekeepers, vendors, physicians, announcers, clubs, and corporations associated with a professional boxing contest or professional exhibition.

The commission is also authorized to set license and permit fees and conduct investigations into alleged violations.
