The Kingfisher County Health Department offers a Maternity Program to assure that women will have access and availability to quality prenatal care early and throughout their pregnancy, and postpartum for a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby. The Maternity Program is available to all women regardless of race, religion, color, ethnicity, or ability to pay.
Health department maternity services are offered without charge. Every effort is made to see women seeking care as early as possible. Maternity services include best prenatal/medical care practices by a nurse practitioner/doctor, lab, public health nurse, nutrition, social work, breast feeding support, WIC (based on income), assistance with Sooner Care eligibility, and other services/resources as needed to support a healthy pregnancy.
Maternity services are only prenatal care (care before the baby is born). The health department staff works with our patients to plan for delivery with private physicians and hospitals of their choosing.
If you would like information on topics related to healthy pregnancy, such as healthy eating and habits, effect of drugs and alcohol, postpartum depression, these resources may be helpful to you or a family member.
