Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month -

There are five main types of gynecologic cancer (the term used to classify cancer that starts in a woman’s reproductive organs). They are cervical, uterine, ovarian, vaginal, and vulvar. It is important for women to know the warning signs and ways to reduce the risk of these cancers. Click here for more information.

The Kay County Health Department is able to provide both HPV vaccinations and the screening for cervical cancer (called the Pap test). Current recommendations (as sited by the CDC) are that all women between the ages of 21 and 65 receive Pap tests. Call your local area clinic to learn more about HPV vaccine availability or to schedule an appointment for a Pap test.

Child Passenger Safety Week begins September 18th -

Oklahoma’s updated Child Passengers Safety Laws went into effect November 1st, 2015. The Kay County Health Department can help make sure your child's seat is appropriate and installed correctly. We have trained child passenger safety technicians that conduct child seat safety checks at no charge. Contact your local area clinic for more information.
