The Jackson County Health Department (Consumer Health Service) is responsible for licensing and inspecting retail food establishments, public bathing facilities (swimming pools) and lodging establishments. Other services provided include investigating public health related complaints, investigating and managing animal bites, investigating possible food borne illnesses, investigating public smoking complaints and providing educational services such as food schools.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (Consumer Protection Division provides services in the following program areas: jail inspections, food manufacturing, body piercing and tattooing, bedding, radiation and medical micro-pigmentation. Information regarding these services is available online.
