CATCH Annual Reports

This page contains the goals and annual reports of the CKC program for the state of Oklahoma.  Additional analyses are in process and addendum reports will be deposited here.  Should you have questions regarding the Oklahoma CATCH Kids Club program, please contact the CATCH Coordinator, Ericka Williams, or Jennifer Han, PhD, Community Assessment & Evaluation Specialist for the program (contact information below).

Goals of CKC

The primary goal for the Oklahoma CATCH Kids Club program is to reduce childhood obesity among participating children.  We hope to create and foster an environmental change in the home and the after-school environments.  Our goals are to increase fruit and vegetable consumption and encourage children to become more physically active.

Summary of 2010 - 2011 Analysis

In CKC’s fourth year (2010-2011), it included 70 sites, 40 of which were included in this evaluation.  There were some improvements in nutrition and physical activity knowledge, behavior, and confidence, as well as BMI among students who participated in the CKC program.  More children were engaging in at least 7 of 9 healthy behaviors by the end of the school year.  In general nutrition knowledge and confidence only exhibited slight change.  Students generally engaged in less screen time; however, physical activity participation did not change.
