Teens need access to medically accurate, evidence-based information in order to make responsible decisions for their future.  For teen pregnancy prevention, this refers to programs that have been proven through rigorous evaluation to reduce teen pregnancy, behavioral risk, or other associated risk factors among teens.1 Evidence-based programs can be expected to produce positive results consistently.

Evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention curricula are offered to schools and youth-serving organizations in Oklahoma, Tulsa, and 24 other counties with high teen birth rates through the Oklahoma State Department of Health's Maternal and Child Health Service (MCH).  The three curricula offered in these counties include Making A Difference!, Making Proud Choices!, and Reducing the Risk.
