Water Quality Division
The Blue Thumb Water Quality Education Program is the educational arm of the OCC Water Quality Division and its mission is "stream protection through education." The mission is accomplished by working with "citizen scientist" volunteers and offering information to the general public about stream and river protection.
Blue Thumb volunteers monitor streams in their communities, conduct groundwater screenings and share their knowledge of water quality with others. Anyone can be a volunteer! Volunteers are comprised of an array of student groups, Girl and Boy Scout troops, families, couples, and individual citizens who monitor 100 streams across Oklahoma.
Visit the Blue Thumb website at www.bluethumbok.com for more information and to find out how you can get involved!
