CLEET Records Requests and Information
Training Records These records are afforded protection under Oklahoma statutes. The guidelines below provide basic information relating to the release of these CLEET records.
• CLEET may verify to any person whether an individual is a licensed peace officer in the State of Oklahoma.
The law requires CLEET to keep confidential all records relating to any employed or certified full-time officer, reserve officer or other person • CLEET may release entire records of a peace officer to that peace officer upon a written request signed by the peace officer. [REQUEST FORM INDIVIDUAL] Information to Employing Agencies or Potential Employers: The law specifically outlines the information that may be released to an officer’s employing agency or to a potential employer. The following documents may be released to an officer’s employing agency or to an agency who is considering hiring a certified peace officer: • OSBI/FBI investigation reports Records Requested Pursuant to Official Investigation: • CLEET may release any records to a law enforcement agency conducting an official investigation. Administrative Orders/Proceedings: • CLEET may release records to provide final orders of administrative proceedings where an adverse action was taken against a peace officer. Records Obtained Through Subpoena: • CLEET may release lesson plans, basic academy curriculum, reserve academy curriculum, peace officer training records, and personal communications concerning individual students pursuant to an order of the district court of the State of Oklahoma.
• CLEET Basic Academy curriculum and CLEET Reserve Academy curriculum may only be released to law enforcement agencies who have been approved by the Council to administer training. Continuing Education (CE) Records: • CLEET will release to employing agencies information relating to officer CE credits and classes obtained during the current calendar year.
