Continuing Education:
Continuing education hours in ethics, counseling supervision, and in the context of a home-study or technology-assisted learning must be Board approved.
Inactivate/Retire:
You may place your license on inactive status, if your license is in good standing, by submitting a request to be placed on inactive status, a one-time $25.00 fee, and your original license. A license placed on inactive status must remain inactive for at least one (1) year, but may remain inactive for as long as you desire. You do not need to accrue continuing education or pay any additional fees while your license is inactive.
If your license is in good standing, you may retire your license by notifying the Board in writing. A retired license cannot be reactivated but it does not prevent an individual from reapplying for licensure in the future.
If your approved supervisor status is in good standing you may request inactive status.
You may retire your approved supervisor status by notifying the Department in writing. A retired approved supervisor status cannot be reinstated but does not prevent a person from applying for approved supervisor status at a future date.
Late Renewal:
If you fail to renew your license by the expiration date, your license will be suspended forfeiting all right and privileges granted by the license. You have the right to renew the license by payment of the prorated renewal fee, the $25.00 late renewal fee and submission of a completed continuing education roster documenting 40 hours of continuing education.
Licensees not renewed within the one (1) year renewal period shall be permanently expired and shall not be reinstated.
