Approved Supervision Equivalency Course Contacts
The supervision equivalency course is forty-five (45) hours consisting of fifteen (15) hours of face-to-face class time, which includes four (4) supervisors-in-training and thirty (30) hours of directed study. The Board approves each course and the course instructor. This office does not keep a record of when each class is offered. Below is a list of the Board approved supervision equivalency course instructors. If you are interested in completing the equivalency course please contact an instructor regarding when they are offering the equivalency course.

Approved Supervisors: Requirements

Licensed Professional Counselor
In order to qualify to become a LPC approved supervisor you must complete the following:
1. You must be a Licensed Professional Counselor who has practiced counseling for two (2) years beyond the issue date of the license. Your issue date is printed on the lower left-hand corner of your certificate
2. You must have successfully completed a graduate course in counseling supervision from a regionally credited university of at least forty-five (45) hours -or- You must have successfully completed a Board approved supervision equivalent course.
3. You must have passed the Oklahoma Legal and Ethical Responsibilities Examination (OLERE).
4. You must submit an agreement to be “on call” to the supervisee on a twenty-four (24) hour basis and arrange for an alternate supervisor if you become unavailable.
Licensed Marital and Family Therapist
In order to qualify to become a LMFT approved supervisor you must complete the following:
1. You must be a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist who has practiced counseling for two (2) years beyond the issue date of the license. Your issue date is printed on the lower left-hand corner of your certificate -or- You must be an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy approved supervisor who is familiar with the Oklahoma LMFT Rules and Regulations.
2. You must have successfully completed a graduate course in therapist supervision from a regionally credited university of at least forty-five (45) hours -or- You must have successfully completed a Board approved supervision equivalent course.
Licensed Behavioral Practitioner
In order to qualify to become a LBP approved supervisor you must complete the following:
1. You must be a Licensed Behavioral Practitioner, Professional Counselor, Marital and Family Therapist, Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker or a Physician licensed by Oklahoma.
2. You must have practiced in positions similar to those that the LBP applicant proposes to practice for two (2) years passed the issue date of your relevant license.
3. You must have passed the LBP State Standards Test.
4. You must complete ten (10) hours of TAMP approved continuing education.
5. You must submit a letter to the Board agreeing to be “on call” to the supervisee on a twenty-four (24) hour basis and arrange for an alternate supervisor if you become unavailable. Also, your letter must state you agree to learn and teach the LBP Act and Regulations to the supervisee.
