Have you mastered the art of doing more with less despite the roadblocks we sometimes face… I just attended the ATIA conference in Orlando, Florida and heard from some of the biggest names in AT about the latest trends and state-of-the-art AT tools. I look forward to passing on bits of information with everyone.
ATIA also has live and archived webinars with a lot of the AT information if you are looking for specific topics. As an ABLE Tech partner you are able to participate in a very exclusive offer from our National Technical Assistant grantee, Catalyst, to access both live and archived webinars for free. Begin by going to the ATIA website.
Once you select the webinar title you are interested in, click register, it will indicate the cost of the webinar, but once you click register again it will ask for a code, which is CATUNL16. The price will indicate $0.00. After completing the registration you will receive an email with directions on how to connect to the webinar.
The Oklahoma Durable Medical Equipment Reuse Program (OKDMERP) is looking for donations of good, used durable medical equipment that can be refurbished and given to Oklahomans in need. If you have or know someone that has items to donate, ABLE Tech will be happy to make arrangements for pick up. You can download this flyer for distribution.
Mrs. Choate was able to benefit greatly from the equipment she was introduced to through the ABLE Tech program. She has gotten back to sewing, baking and cooking, which is a big joy for her. Mrs. Choate was allowed to explore various lighting and magnification devices and is now able to read her recipes and magazines.
Prior to NewView assisting her with new techniques and equipment, Mrs. Choate had to depend on her husband to measure cooking ingredients. Now she can confidently measure, pour and transfer food in and out of a hot oven and does not worry about burning herself. With the help of lighting, magnification and adaptive devices Mrs. Choate is also back to her other joy of quilting.
She is also grateful for the assistance on the computer and expressed how the large printed keyboard with contrast was an aid to her computer usage. ABLE Tech’s demo and loan program has made a measurable difference in our patients’ lives.
More iPad than ever! iPad Pro is the largest and most powerful iPad ever designed, yet it's so thin – only 6.9mm – and weighs just 1.57 pounds. Its 12.9-inch Retina display, along with the powerful new multitasking features of iOS 9, mean the iPad Pro can do things no iPad has done before.
Here it is in our Device Loan inventory.
