Continuing to Celebrate the Americans with Disabilities Act 25th Anniversary!
The impact of the ADA can be seen in the lives it has changed throughout the past 25 years. This landmark legislation helps protect the rights of people with disabilities in five key areas: employment, state and local government facilities and services, public accommodations, telecommunications and transportation. The ADA not only protects people with disabilities from discrimination, but also allows them to fully participate in the workforce and their communities.
A great resource for disability advocates is Think Beyond the Label is a public-private partnership that delivers information, outreach and resources to businesses, job seekers and the public workforce system to ensure greater recruiting and hiring opportunities for job candidates with disabilities.
They have some effective tips and practices to promote a more inclusive workforce. Watch one of the videos they produced – you could embed them on your website OR visit thinkbeyondthelabel.com to pick up some great information!
You can download the 3rd Quarter Device Demonstration and Short-Term Loan reports provided to the ABLE Tech Consumer Advisory Council meeting on July 22. Also, please remember to submit your success stories.
