Poet Laureate

The Oklahoma Poet Laureate Program is designed to honor outstanding Oklahoma poets and promote participation in the literary arts of the state. The program is coordinated by the Oklahoma Humanities Council on behalf of the Governor.

CURRENT POET LAUREATE
The Oklahoma Centennial Poet Laureate is N. Scott Momaday. Momaday's term as the state's 16th poet laureate runs until Jan. 1, 2009.
