For SongWorks Series programs and songwriting workshops a projector and screen will be needed.

Narrative
Monty Harper is an award-winning children's songwriter and recording artist. Joyful respect for libraries, books, language and literacy permeates his work. Monty never "writes down" to kids. His songs are imaginative, humorous, upbeat and intelligent. They inspire kids (and adults!) to move, clap, laugh and sing along.

Monty presents library programs based on the state-wide theme each summer, as well as programs on any theme throughout the year. Monty's elementary school assemblies include "Music and Movement" for PK-2nd, "Oklahoma History" for PK-5th, "Reading Celebrations" for PK-5th, or "Just for Fun."

He also presents family concerts and festival performances year-around throughout Oklahoma. Monty teaches writing process to elementary students through his innovative and entertaining SongWorks Series. He also leads kids in the creation of their own original songs through his workshops and residencies.
