The Falderal String Band, which was organized in the mid 1970s, plays old-time music from the Southern Plains, continuing traditions of the barn dance and other traces of America’s past. Their presentation is conducted in a light-hearted way, to recreate the look and feel of an old-time community gathering. Concerts include traditional songs, skits, tall tales, historical facts and fabrications. With roots steeped in rich musical heritage, ranging from Civil War to dust bowl Americana, Falderal weaves in a healthy does of irreverent humor to make for a rollicking good time. Performances are suitable for all ages.
