E-911 Dispatcher/Operator
No previous experience is required for this position. Training will be provided.
This position is responsible for:
• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls from the public and respond appropriately.
• Respond to these calls in the appropriate manner and inform the concerned authorities immediately.
• Dispatch agencies or units who can provide assistance to the correct location after assessing the situation.
• Operate on emergency radio frequencies to monitor and coordinate various activities and assignments.
• Create accurate logs of all public communications.
• Maintain confidentiality of all the information dealt with.
This position operates in shifts on a 24-hour basis. Must be available all shifts.
Individuals must be at least 18 years old, a United States citizen and should also possess a high school diploma or a G.E.D (General Educational Development) credential.
A good command of the English language required. Proficiency in Spanish a plus.
