Counter-Marketing Campaigns Programs

 

Mass media campaigns, when combined with other tobacco control activities, have proven to be very effective in the overall strategy to reduce tobacco use.

To assure an efficient use of resources, pre-produced ads from other states are used to promote the Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline, prevent youth from starting to use tobacco, and educate the public about the dangers of secondhand smoke and other issues.

In partnership with the American Legacy Foundation, TSET helps to assure that Oklahoma youth receive a "heavy dose" of truth® advertising which has been proven to help prevent youth smoking. By telling the truth about the tobacco industry and its products and exposing their marketing tactics, truth® allows teens to make informed choices about tobacco use.
