Special Announcement - 1099
All 1099s have been mailed to our retired clients and beneficiaries. However, some of you received incorrect 1099s or received two 1099s and should have received one. These mistakes were caused by a programming error discovered shortly after the 1099s were mailed. Most of the affected clients were those who turned 59 ½ in 2014 and some clients who turned 59 in 2014. A more detailed description of the problem is below. We will be mailing corrected 1099s within a few days. We here at TRS want to apologize to our clients for the confusion. When we make a mistake we will let you know and get the problem fixed as soon as possible.

The federal and state withholding tables have been recently updated in the OTRS accounting system, which may result in a small change to your monthly benefit payment amount. Any changes will be reflected beginning with the February 1, 2015 benefit payment. You should receive a separate letter detailing any changes to your monthly benefit payment.
