The City of Moore will receive Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). CDBG-DR funds support a broad range of community projects to address unmet long term recovery needs in the 2013 disaster area. The Disaster Recovery funds are intended to aid in long-term tornado recovery efforts in the 5-6 year time frame. The City with resident and committee input is drafting an Action Plan that will guide spending and projects related to these funds.
The City of Moore is holding a public meeting in order to gather final recommendations on the Action Plan accompanying the CDBG-DR funding. The committee and public will have the opportunity make recommendations regarding budget and potential projects. The Public Hearing is open to all residents of Moore and any persons or organizations desiring to speak on this matter will be afforded an opportunity to be heard. The City of Moore encourages participation from all its citizens. If participation at any public hearing is not possible due to a disability (such as a hearing or speech disability) or language barrier, notification to the city clerk at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled public hearing is encouraged to allow the city to make the necessary accommodations.
Public comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014.
The CDBG-DR action plan will be presented to the Moore City Council for discussion and consideration on March 17h.
