Summary of 2015 Proposed Legislative Changes
OSBLSW will be accepting comments on the proposed 2015 legislative changes. Persons wishing to present their views orally or in writing may do so before 5:00 p.m. on January 16, 2015. Additionally, a public hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on January 30, 2015 at the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision,101 Northeast 51st Street Oklahoma City, OK 73105. CHAPTER 10. LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
675: 10-1-3. Requirements for the Licensed Social Work Associate
The proposed amendments to Rule 675: 10-1-3 deletes language and eliminates the requirement of two years of supervised practice for Licensed Social Worker Associate licensure as per SB 1699 which was passed during the 2014 legislative session. The change incorporates language that is consistent with how the other levels of licensure are defined in agency rules.
CHAPTER 12. GUIDELINES FOR SUPERVISION
The proposed amendments to Rule 675: 12-1-2 deletes language and eliminates the requirement of two years of supervised practice for Licensed Social Worker Associate licensure as per SB 1699 which was passed during the 2014 legislative session.
STATE BOARD OF LICENSED SOCIAL WORKERS ACT
Section 1251 (C) – License Required - Exemptions
Changes to Subsection C – Adds a statement to clarify the exemption DOES NOT APPLY to those who are licensed by the Board, regardless of their employment.
Section 1266.1 (A) (14). Refusal to issue or renew, suspend, revoke, censure, reprimand, restrict or limit license – Fines – Judicial review
Changes to (A)(14) – Add the word “OKLAHOMA” to this section to clarify that any adverse action taken on another Oklahoma license held by the licensed social worker is grounds for disciplinary action against their social work licensure.
