CPT Code Modifier 33 - Preventive Service Updated!

Effective for charges incurred on or after January 1, 2012, HealthChoice and Department of Corrections Network Providers will be reimbursed 100% of Allowed Charges for the following evaluation and management codes when they are billed using Modifier 33 to identify them as preventive services:

| 99212 | Office or other outpatient visit |
| 99213 | Office or other outpatient visit |
| 99214 | Office or other outpatient visit |
| 99215 | Office or other outpatient visit |
Be aware that CPT Code Modifier 33 applies only to services provided to pre-Medicare patients. Additionally, Modifier 33 should not be used for services that are already identified as preventive.
