Medco Transitioning to Express Scripts
Posted 07/27/12; Modified 10/23/12

Medco and Express Scripts have merged to form the largest pharmacy benefits manager in the nation. The merged company is Express Scripts.

Medco Express LogoAfter September 1, 2012, providers will begin noticing the name change in references by customer service representatives and in all communication materials and websites. The web address is Express-scripts.com, but the phone numbers remain the same. Prescription identification cards will not be reissued at this time. When new cards are issued, they will reflect the name change to Express Scripts.

Express Scripts and Medco are taking the steps necessary to ensure a smooth transition while also ensuring that members and providers are not surprised by the name change. It is important to understand that the merger will not alter the way members order prescriptions or contact customer service.

For more details regarding the change, visit the website at Express-scripts.com.
