Critical Access Hospitals

Starting January 1, 2013, HealthChoice and the Department of Corrections (DOC) will recognize all Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) in Oklahoma and its contiguous states. CAHs are facilities located in rural communities that receive cost based reimbursement from Medicare. CAHs must also meet other stringent criteria.

All CAH facilities participating in the HealthChoice and DOC Provider Networks and paid the urban rate will change to a rural reimbursement level for charges incurred on or after January 1, 2013.
